Surface Preparation
New Surface:
Surface must be dry and clean. For new surface remove all loose powder by sweeping with sand paper. Apply a sealing coat with Griplac Exterior putty. Allow the filler to dry overnight before painting with emulsion paint.
Old surfaces:
Necessary repair work of cracks and defective rendering should be done before painting, Remove all moss, Remove poorly adhering or powder coating. Apply sand paper to get smooth surface. For best results apply one or two coats of Griplac Acrylic Primer or Exterior Filling.
Application
COVERAGE:
Ideal covering capacity under normal conditions. should be spot-primed prior to painting.
SOME TIPS TO USE
• Stir well before use.
• Application can be done by brush, roller or spray.
• Thin (by volume) up to 30-40% with clean water for brush application, 20-30% for conventional roller application and 30 – 40% for air spray application.
• Clean all equipment with clean water immediately after use.
SURFACE PREPARATION
New Or Bare Masonry Surfaces:
Bare masonry surfaces should be completely dry and free from dust, dirt and grease. Use a bleach solution to treat the surface affected by fungus. Repair cracks, uneven surfaces with Griplac Exterior Putty. Smooth the putty/filler areas with sand paper and dust off thoroughly. Allow all the surface to dry completely prior to painting. Avoid paint if the moisture content and alkalinity of the walls is still high.
Previously Painted Surfaces:
Remove unstable paint film, loose chalk by rubbing down using abrasive paper or wire brush and dust off. Use Griplac Acrylic Exterior Putty to repair cracks if necessary.
Drying Time:
Touch dry: 30 minutes (Dependent on temperature and humidity)
Hard dry: 2-3 hours
Re-coating Interval: 2-3 hours
Coverage:12-14 sq.m per liter per coat. (May vary depending on the substrates conditions)
No. of Coats: 2-3
For Optimum Results: Apply 1 coat of Griplac Acrylic Primer or Griplac Exterior Putty before applying Griplac Majestic Weather Shine.
